KEY FEATURES
-
4G LTE Connectivity :Enables drones and remote controllers to access cellular networks, providing a secondary data link to supplement standard radio signals.
- Enhanced Transmission: Intelligently switches between OcuSync and 4G data to maintain video feeds and control when physical obstacles block direct line-of-sight.
- Obstruction Resilience: Specifically designed to overcome signal loss in complex environments like urban centers with tall buildings or mountainous terrain.
- Compact Hardware: Uses a standard nano-SIM card slot and connects via USB-C, with newer versions offering integrated installation for specific drone models.
- Network RTK Support: Facilitates stable high-precision positioning for industrial applications like surveying and 3D mapping by maintaining a constant data connection.
- Global Band Support: Compatible with a wide range of global 4G frequency bands, allowing for use in various regions with a local data plan.
- Subscription Model: Generally includes a one-year trial of the Enhanced Transmission service, requiring a paid annual renewal to keep the cellular link features active.
- High Data Throughput: Capable of handling high-definition video streaming, consuming approximately 1GB of data per 30 minutes of active cellular flight.
Description
Dji Cellular Dongle Price in Kenya is at Ksh17,000.
The DJI Cellular Dongle and its successor, the Cellular Dongle 2, are specialized communication modules that provide compatible drones and remote controllers with 4G LTE network access. By integrating a nano-SIM card, these devices enable “Enhanced Transmission,” which allows the drone to maintain a stable video feed and control link in environments where traditional OcuSync radio signals are obstructed by buildings, trees, or terrain. The system intelligently switches between the standard radio link and the cellular network to ensure a seamless connection, which is particularly vital for high-precision tasks like mapping or long-distance surveying.
The latest iteration, the Cellular Dongle 2, introduces Antenna Switch Diversity (ASDIV) for improved signal stability and features a more compact design for direct integration into newer models like the Air 3S. For smaller drones like the Mini 4 Pro, an external mounting kit is required to house the dongle and its additional 4G antennas. While the hardware facilitates a redundant data link, it relies on local carrier coverage and consumes roughly 1GB of data for every 30 minutes of flight. Users typically receive a one-year subscription to the enhanced transmission service upon activation, requiring a yearly renewal thereafter to keep the cellular switching features active.
